I stopped writing code at the weekends

I stopped writing code at the weekends.

And I'm feeling pretty great about it.

Instead I'm spending my weekends reading books, discovering new music, eating well, going running, learning French, planning trips abroad, playing guitar, spending more time with my friends and visiting my parents.

To me these activities are more important. I hope that they will make me a more rounded individual. I hope that they will make me more cultured, knowledgable and empathetic. I look forward to being able to have deep conversations with people of all backgrounds and walks of life. I looking forwarding to creating fond memories, nostalgia, something with more personal longevity as I'm afraid to say I have never been able to say that about writing code.
